Within the chapel, you will find a legendary stone chair, believed to ensure safe childbirth for pregnant women. Even Queen Maria Ana of Austria once came here to seek its blessing.
The original chapel was almost completely destroyed during the catastrophic earthquake of seventeen fifty-five, but it was lovingly reconstructed in seventeen ninety-six. It is designed in a simple Baroque style and includes beautiful interior artworks, such as Rococo tile panels and an eighteenth-century nativity scene. The Augustinian friars once tended to this sacred site, enriching its historical significance.
In the twentieth century, the miradouro was renovated to accommodate the numerous visitors drawn by its remarkable views and historical importance. Today, it stands as a testament to Lisbon's heritage, seamlessly blending natural beauty with cultural tales.
